Loading... Please wait...90% Tannat, 10% Cabernet. As its name suggest Tannat is a tannic variety and the wines of Madiran are probably the most powerful in terms of structure in France. But thanks to modernists like the Laplace family of Chateau Perron, who have done so much to soften tannins, Chateau Le grand Perron is an immensily enjoyable wine. Rich and full bodied, dark in colour, with lots of well integrated spicy tannins, oaky undertones, plenty of liquorice, chocolatey and tar aromas and a long leathery finish.
